family counseling

Family counseling happens automatically when a member of the family engages in counseling. When clinicians work with adolescent and young adult clients we often work explore changes in the home environment, family communication skills, supportive practices in the home, and emotional regulation techniques that impact the entire family unit. POH will work with families when the client's treatment progression is impacted by the family unit's functionality in the home. POH clinicians can work with families who are seeking counseling due to situations such as parental separation/divorce, family abuse or neglect, blended family challenges, sibling conflict, parent/child conflict, as well as other difficulties that can arise in a family environment.
